As a follow-up to a previous post, Paladin Leveling Gear From Outland, today I’d like to talk about leveling gear for Paladins from Northrend. As you work your way from Outland into Northrend, you’ll find the upgrades from quests, random drops and instances will come fast and furious. Hopefully this list will help you weed through the undesirables and keep you focused on solid upgrades as you level. This post will focus primarily on Protection upgrades, while a follow-up post will cover upgrades for those of the Holy persuasion.
I’m going to deviate from the format I used in the previous article since it seemed a bit too “wall of text”-y for my taste. Hopefully you’ll find this format a bit easier to follow.

Filling Gaps
As you level, if you find you’re having trouble filling certain slots, don’t be afraid to equip a little Ret Plate to help you speed up the leveling process. True, this may not be ideal if you spend most of your time tanking instances, but sometimes Defensive Plate can be hard to come by through quests. Keep an eye out for items with Stamina, Strength, Attack Power, Hit Rating, Crit Rating or Expertise.

Nice list. I could have used a lot of this myself. In fact, some of it I might still be able to use.
I went for the Cobalt “set” initially myself. To save everyone some calculation, I believe the total was 44 Cobalt Bars to make the whole deal. I didn’t get the shield myself because I already had two that were better (one for questing, one for grinding), but the rest of the set was really solid for a good while.
